Setting up the network license manager
- Install Polysun on the server. You can download Polysun here: https://www.velasolaris.com/downloads/
- Unpack the archive ‘PolysunNetworkLicenseManager.zip’ (the path of the zip file is the directory of the Polysun installation) and install the appropriate licence manager depending on the operating system.
- Windows server: Please use setup.exe for installation
- Linux/Mac server: use lserv64 (64 bit) or lserv (32 bit) (must be started from a terminal environment). Note: On Linux/Mac, the license manager is not automatically set up as an autostart program and therefore has to be set up manually (e.g. via crontab).
- Start Polysun, click on ‘Activate automatically with EID/PKID’ and enter your license key (PKID, alternatively EID). Afterwards, enter ‘localhost’ when Polysun asks for a contact server address.
- Close Polysun on the server. Start Polysun on a client. Click on ‘Connect to a network license manager’ and enter the network IP address of the server.
- If it is not possible to connect a client to the server, you may need to enable the UDP ports 5093 and 5099 in the firewall.
- If the online activation process is not possible or desired, you will find a README file in the ZIP file (PolysunNetworkLicenseManager.zip) with another variant for setting up (offline activation).
- Further details on the license manager (Sentinel from Thales Group) can be found here: Link
