Waste Heat Utilisation in Data Centres: Common Use Cases and Optimal Design with Polysun

15. April, 16:00 - 16:45 CEST

Data centres are the backbone of digitalisation, but they are also major energy consumers. The growing use of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, as well as the digital networking of business and society, are leading to increasing electricity consumption and waste heat. New energy efficiency laws stipulate not only that energy requirements must be met by renewable energy sources, but also that waste heat must be utilised. Polysun is the ideal software for mapping and simulating both aspects.

After an introduction to the topic and an overview of standards and guidelines, the webinar covers the following use cases:

  • integration of heat pumps via optimised load management
  • bidirectional cold local heating network with decentralised heat pump
  • feed-in of waste heat into district heating networks
  • direct supply to neighbours (e.g. swimming pool, greenhouse, campus)
  • cooling via outside air, lake or sea water and heat recovery
  • redundancies (dual design and parallel operation of system-critical infrastructures)
Benefit from practical tips and in-depth expertise for your planning.

Target groups: system design engineers, energy service providers and energy consultants

Duration: 30-minute presentation + 15 minutes of questions and answers

Participation in the webinar is free of charge.
