This means that from this date onwards, logging in with an <strong>email address and password<\/strong> will be the primary login option in the Polysun desktop app from version 2026.3 onwards. Ideally, the preparatory work should be carried out in the week of March 2, 2026. The replacement is secured by a legacy mode in which it is possible to switch back to the previous licensing system for a few weeks in the event of errors. However, we recommend that you start using the new user-based licensing system immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-following-options-are-now-available-to-users-with-administrator-rights-in-the-user-portal\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The following options are now available to users with administrator rights in the user portal:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bulk invitation of users to the company account with an invitation link<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>License assignment and management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User management and rights assignment per user<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Users will be able to download updates directly from the portal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Central user and license management for administrators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-advantages-of-replacement-for-it\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of replacement for IT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No device key management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No more network license manager service needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No manual distribution of license codes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Independent updates by users<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Centralized management of all users and licenses for administrators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-how-will-the-device-based-license-be-replaced\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How will the device-based license be replaced?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users with administrator rights should test access to the new user portal during the week of March 2. If the new user portal is not accessible in the company network environment, the web services listed below should be available for use. As soon as the portal is accessible, users can be informed and invited to the Polysun company account via an invitation link. Starting March 9, users will see the login window when they start Polysun version 2026.3 or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-preparatory-work-for-administrators\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparatory work for administrators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting March 2, 2026, administrators of Polysun network licenses and companies with multiple team members can carry out the above preparatory work. The portal will then be accessible and the license data will be migrated to your company account. On March 2, we will send detailed information to your key contact. They can register in the portal and add the IT admin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the key contact does not have access to the portal from the internal network, they will contact you. The situations listed in the following section should help you find a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-behavior-of-the-polysun-desktop-app-in-typical-user-situations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Behavior of the Polysun Desktop App in typical user situations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Polysun Desktop App uses the web services necessary for operation to ensure that it is always up to date and to enable license access. These are summarized below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access to velasolaris.com to call up the help documents in the app and contact support chat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to location weather data and map information for selecting the location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the user portal for logging into the app<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These web services may not be available or may only be partially available for the Polysun Desktop App in your company network. Network access may also be interrupted due to operational disruptions or other problems. HTTPS port 443<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>alert-friendship-14.authkit.app<\/td><td>172.64.152.23, 104.18.35.233<\/td><td>HTTP port 80 &amp; HTTPS port 443<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><em>Third party services<\/em><\/td><td><\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>ba-ws.geonames.net<\/td><td>88.198.40.75<\/td><td>HTTP port 80<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>ba-ws2.geonames.net<\/td><td>188.40.55.18<\/td><td>HTTP port 80<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>openstreetmap.org<\/td><td>104.21.88.66, 172.67.173.161<\/td><td>HTTPS port 443<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>tile.openstreetmap.org<\/td><td>199.232.189.91<\/td><td>HTTPS port 443<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>mdx.meteotest.ch<\/td><td>34.95.90.60<\/td><td>HTTPS port 443<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-user-has-not-entered-their-proxy-ip-proxy-port-proxy-user-proxy-password\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">User has not entered their proxy IP, proxy port, proxy user, proxy password<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"247\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-proxy-help.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-proxy-help.png 696w, https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-proxy-help-300x106.png 300w, https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-proxy-help-200x71.png 200w, https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-proxy-help-400x142.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users must enter their company&#8217;s proxy information once in the Polysun desktop app. You can find out how to do this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/en\/faq\/causes-and-solutions-for-startup-and-connection-problems\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-if-the-company-is-behind-a-proxy-with-tls-inspection\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">If the company is behind a proxy with TLS inspection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If login fails on a machine that&#8217;s behind a corporate security proxy or TLS\u2011inspection solution, the cause can be that the proxy&#8217;s CA certificate is not trusted by Polysun&#8217;s Java truststore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Polysun uses a custom Java truststore:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Example path (depends on installation and OS): <code>C:\\Program Files\\Polysun\\cacerts<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Truststore password: <code>\"\"<\/code> (empty string)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To allow Polysun to complete login successfully, your IT team can choose one of the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-1-exclude-polysun-domains-from-tls-inspection\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1) Exclude Polysun domains from TLS inspection<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Configure the corporate proxy to bypass HTTPS inspection for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>license.polysun.app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>portal.polysun.app<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is usually the simplest option and requires no changes to Polysun&#8217;s configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-2-import-your-tls-inspection-ca-into-polysun-s-truststore\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2) Import your TLS\u2011inspection CA into Polysun&#8217;s truststore<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your IT team can import the corporate TLS\u2011inspection root CA certificate into Polysun&#8217;s existing truststore. Example command (run as administrator, adjust paths as needed):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>   keytool -importcert -trustcacerts ^\n     -alias corporate-tls-proxy-ca ^\n     -file \"path\\to\\your-proxy-ca.cer\" ^\n     -keystore \"path\\to\\Polysun\\cacerts\" ^\n     -storepass \"\"<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After importing, restart Polysun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-3-use-your-own-truststore\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3) Use your own truststore<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your IT team can create and manage their own Java truststore that includes the corporate TLS\u2011inspection CA, then configure Polysun to use it. In <code>Polysun.vmoptions<\/code>, set:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;`text<br>-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=path\\to\\your\\truststore.jks<br>-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=yourTruststorePassword<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-user-has-no-network-or-unstable-internet-access\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">User has no network or unstable internet access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Information on how the Polysun desktop app behaves when there is no network access or an unstable internet connection (e.g., when traveling by train) can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/en\/faq\/causes-and-solutions-for-startup-and-connection-problems\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-after-registering-in-the-user-portal-the-user-cannot-see-their-company-information-and-team-members\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">After registering in the user portal, the user cannot see their company information and team members<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The user did not register via the invitation link to the company account, but registered as an individual user in the portal. The user therefore cannot see any valid licenses. As soon as they log in with a valid invitation link to the company account, they will be assigned to it.
