The software takes regional differences into account and allows cold water temperatures to be entered via a file, which is particularly important for district heating systems or specific local conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cold-water-calculation\">Cold Water Calculation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the dialog window of the \u2018Cold water\u2019 the calculation method of the cold-water supply can be opened by clicking on the tap image in the system diagram. The cold-water temperature influences the energy demand for domestic hot water. By decreasing the cold-water temperature, the difference between set point of hot water and cold water inlet increases, which leads to a larger energy demand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image110.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71340\" style=\"width:818px;height:533px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure: cold water element on the system diagram<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are three methods available, such as \u2018Automatic\u2019, \u2018Catalog\u2019 and \u2018From file\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Automatic\u2019 calculation method of the cold water supply depends on the location chosen in the \u2018Location of the system\u2019 in project settings. Distribution of the cold water supply is calculated by the embedded Polysun procedure and depends on the weather data for the given location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Catalog\u2019 method allows choosing the appropriate cold water supply profile from the catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image111-1-1024x729.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71342\" style=\"width:848px;height:604px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure: selection of the cold water supply from the catalog<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main parameters, which are defined in the catalog are: the mean temperature [\u00b0C], temperature range [K] and warmest month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mean temperature \u2013 cold water mean temperature in a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Temperature range \u2013 differences between the mean temperature and the highest temperature and the highest temperature during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Warmest month \u2013 month with the highest cold water temeperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to these parameters monthly values are calculated for the whole year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also possible to change the values of the parameters if the suitable ones were not available. In order to do that, you can simply copy any line from the catalog with a new name assigned and then you can introduce any changes in the given line by clicking on the \u2018pencil\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image112-1-802x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71344\" style=\"width:487px;height:621px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure: editing cold water supply in the catalog<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third method \u2018From file\u2019 gives an opportunity to add available measured data from a file. In order to do that you can also first make a copy of the catalog with a new name, then click on the pencil and then open the *.csv file in the catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The possibility of using the cold water temperature from a file makes Polysun flexible enough to use it also as inlet temperature for district heating systems, outlet (warm) temperature will be in this case the hot water demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velasolaris.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image113-1-1024x689.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71346\" style=\"width:815px;height:548px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure: selection of the cold water supply from file<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the spreadsheet file the temperatures for the cold water supply are given with a 6 minute time step size.
