This can be set as a fixed value or variable based on setpoint temperatures from the consumer profile, with temperature shifts to compensate for heat losses. The analog output controls a three-way valve, enabling features like scalding protection. Polysun seamlessly integrates this controller into hydraulic simulations, with temperature measurements ideally taken from stable, larger volumes before the mixing valve to ensure realistic and consistent control values. This supports planners and engineers in the precise design and simulation of thermal systems with optimized mixing processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-description-of-the-three-way-control-valve\"><strong>Description of the Three-Way Control Valve<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mixing valve controller is a one-channel controller that regulates the mixing ratio of two different inflows so that the desired outflow temperature can be reached. Such outflow temperature may be specified through a constant or variable value. This analogic output enables to control a three-way valve and put in place this way a scalding protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The controller has 2 (plus 1 optional) analogic inputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The controller has 1 analogic output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Remark:<\/strong> as during a simulation time step the mixing ratio remains constant its calculation should be based on temperatures that are as constant as possible. The hot water temperature setting will be defined in the user profile of the project overview. Select the relevant inlet pipe to the mixing valve or the <strong>previous tank connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Lower Temperature Level [\u00b0C]<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The value refers to the component in which the lower temperature level is measured. Polysun assigns a consecutive number as a standard feature as different controllers are added chronologically in the hydraulic system<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"Sign-of-Output\">Sign of Output<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term \u201cNormal\u201c means that digital output signals are controlled as intended in the switching logics.<br>\u201cInverted\u201d should not be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"Definition-of-Temperature-Setting\">Definition of Temperature Setting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fixed value<br>The mixing valve will be regulated by means of the measured inlet temperatures so that the specified \u201cFixed value\u201d temperature may be reached at the outflow of the mixing valve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Variable temperature setting<br>The mixing valve will be regulated by means of the measured inlet temperatures so that the specified \u201cVariable value\u201c temperature may be reached at the outflow of the mixing valve allowing for the temperature shift.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"Definition-of-Temperature-Shift\">Definition of Temperature Shift<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>E.g. 5 [K]<br>The temperature shift value enables to compensate the temperature drop between the outflow of the mixing valve and the hot water tap. If the value is positive the outflow temperature will be increased by this value. If the value is negative the outflow temperature will be reduced by such value.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Output-Values\" style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Output Values<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"Mixing-Valve-Position\">Mixing Valve Position<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The output \u201cMixing valve\u201d allows to define the position of the valve.
